In honor of independence day, let’s remember a game that made us fight for our independence.

A game where we take the foot of independence, and shove it right up the oppressors ass.

That game is none other than Freedom Fighters.

Freedom Fighters is a 2003 third-person shooter for the PS2, original Xbox, Gamecube, and PC.

It told the tale of the evil Soviet Union invading the United States to… take it over… or something. That’s about the jist of it.

You take control of an ordinary joe named Chris Stone.

Before the Russians invade, he’s just a regular plumber. After the Russians invade, he becomes the leader of the resistance.

Eat your heart out, Mario.

Over the course of the game, you fight the Russians in order to take back New York City, all leading to the final battle…
