Message to Knick fans: Get over Melo

Apparently James Dolan doesn’t own the New York Knicks anymore…Carmelo Anthony does. Head Coach Mike D’Antoni has resigned amidst controversy between he and Anthony.

D’Antoni may have won the battle when benching Anthony, but Carmelo won the war…D’Antoni waived the white flag of course.

On February 22, 2011, Knick fans were singing Kumbaya when Melo was traded to the Knicks; and after all the nonsense he has pulled over the past year, including getting his coach to quit, these idiots still support him.

What has he done for this organization? He is having the worst season of his career and is barley shooting over .400. Hell, that is probably why he wanted D’Antoni out.

By the way, we should listen to D’Antoni.

He has coached a lot of players and has never made obvious if he didn’t like a player or not. This season, he has spoken positive about Tyson Chandler, Jeremy Lin and Amare Stoudemire. He also says supports them in a news conference and preaches how hard they work.

Lately, he hasn’t with Melo.

People think this whole thing is either that D’Antoni just didn’t want to be there anymore because of the losing, or he was forced out because of Melo.

Here is a message loud and clear Knick fans: THIS IS ALL MELO.

All I hear on the radio and television is the Anthony apologists making all these excuses for him and saying how they can’t win without him. ALL THEY HAVE DONE IS WIN WITHOUT HIM! INCLUDING THE NUGGETS!

Since Melo was traded to the Knicks, here are the two teams records:

Denver: 45-30

New York: 33-42

The numbers don’t lie. Knicks are 3-9 since Melo’s return, and Linsanity has died down because of him.

You Melo apologists actually believed he could coexist with Lin…please, there is a ME in Carmelo for a reason.

This theory of having all these superstars doesn’t work anymore. The Mavericks did it with one, the Giants of baseball and football did it with team guys. Melo is not a team player.

Think of some the great championship athletes New York has had: Derek JeterEli ManningMark MessierBernie WilliamsClyde FrazierLou Gehrig. Those guys had a team first mentality, and their success in their respective sports are immeasurable for some of them.

The New York Knicks will NEVER win a championship with Carmelo Anthony.
