Franklin Twp – On May 24, 2011, the Franklinville Fire Co., along with the Malaga Fire Co., responded to a call at 2:55pm about a tractor trailer on state Route 55 South near the Malaga exit, as minor traffic formed.

The driver prevented damage to his truck by making a quick decision; he unhooked the trailer from the truck, and pulled the truck away before things got worse. How the fire started is still not determined at this time.

The tandem of Franklinville and Malaga fire companies put the fire out at 3:23pm.
